18. Artemisia
      An extract of this plant is made and sprayed against the
common insects. The whole plant is harvested and the leaves
and stems are cut into small pieces. One kg of the plant
material is soaked in 10 litres of water for 24 hrs until the
fermentation starts, the fermented liquid is filtered to
obtain a clear liquid and sprayed.

Farmers irrigate bottle gourd with the water of cooked rice
for good yield. They apply about 1 to 2 litre in a day thrice
week. The growth in fruits of bottle gourd is governed by
osmotic pressure.
